ROOKEE is a kids’ ergonomic chair designed to grow with your child through simple, smart adjustability.

ROOKEE by Merryfair

Overview

Merryfair was introducing a new Signature navigation on their website, and ROOKEE was chosen as one of the first products to be featured under this category. They needed a fresh landing page that clearly explained ROOKEE’s benefits and showed why it’s a long-term ergonomic solution for kids.

This was a full end-to-end freelance project where I handled everything from initial research to the final high-fidelity design.

Understanding the Problem

Before jumping into layouts or visuals, I spent time understanding what parents care about. Through online research, I found a pattern. Parents kept asking the same three questions:

  • “Is this safe for my kid?”

  • “Will it actually support their posture?”

  • “Will it last as my child grows?”

A lot of existing ergonomic chair websites answered these questions, but in a complicated, technical way. I knew ROOKEE’s page needed to be different. Simple enough to understand at a glance, but detailed enough to build trust.

Shaping the Approach

From these insights, I shaped the landing page around a very clear intention:
make ergonomics feel simple and make the product feel trustworthy.

That meant the content had to follow a natural story flow. Starting with what parents care about most, then slowly revealing the features, details, and technical specs as they scroll. This helped me decide what sections to include and how to order them.

Designing the Structure

I mapped the page into a gentle narrative:

  • Start with a clean hero section that shows the chair clearly, with a simple headline.

  • Explain why ergonomics matter for kids, without overwhelming people with jargon.

  • Highlight the adjustable features in a friendly, visual way.

  • Show how ROOKEE grows with the child, a very important selling point for parents.

  • Use big, clean photos to build trust and show the quality of the chair.

  • End with technical specifications for those who want more detail.

Every section had a purpose, and every piece of information needed to earn its place.

Final Visual Design

For the final design, I wanted the page to feel modern, trustworthy, and parent-friendly, while still matching the playful spirit of a kids product. This meant using:

  • Clean layouts with plenty of breathing space

  • Clear typography that feels approachable

  • Colours inspired by the chair itself

  • Simple shapes and rounded corners to bring a soft, friendly feel

The most important parts, like ergonomic benefits and adjustability, were supported by easy-to-read visuals and real product photos. It helped make complex ideas feel simple and honest.

Handoff

To make the handoff smooth for everyone, I organised the Figma file clearly so the client and developers could find anything they needed without guessing:

  • Desktop Designs: The full web layout, showing how every section looks on larger screens.

  • Mobile Designs: A responsive version of the site, designed to feel natural and easy to use on smaller devices.

  • Mini Design System: A small but complete guide with colours, typography, spacing, and components used throughout the project.

  • Prototype: A clickable flow that lets the client preview the experience before development.

  • Licensing Assets: All fonts, icons, and images used in the design, properly organised for easy download.

Outcome

The final landing page clearly tells the story of ROOKEE, not just what it is, but why it matters. The client loved how clean and easy it felt, especially the visuals explaining the adjustable parts. It also gave them a strong foundation for future marketing and product education.

Even without official metrics, the overall feedback was that the page finally helped parents understand the product, not just see it.
